The possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms may have had a bit of an impact on numbers but an excited group of cyclists, led by Helen Russell, set off for a 20 mile literary link bike ride. The weather held and all thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Picture of the group in front of the main entrance to Stanway House. The literary link here is JM Barrie, author of Peter Pan, who visited the House many times in the 1920s, and donated the thatched cricket pavilion, set on staddle stones, which is a prominent feature of the Stanway estate.
“We had a fabulous cycle ride today, Saturday, with Helen Russell as part of Books and Bikes. It was a great route with lots of interesting information and facts on our route.”
