About

Continuing with the theme of travel, we’re delighted to welcome Amelia Dalton back to Evesham. Amelia is an enthusiast, an acclaimed author and a great story-teller. She was last with us in 2018, talking about her first book, Mistress and Commander: High Jinks, High Seas and Highlanders, an account of her life establishing her own expedition ship amongst the wildlife, weather and fishing communities of the remote islands of Scotland’s West Coast. Her second book, Pages from my Passport, is a lively memoire of a life devoted to getting people to remote and unusual places, whilst battling with scorpions and bombs, chauvinists and frequently unwilling agents: stories of disasters with an occasional triumph whether amongst the isles of Greece, the Arctic, Papua New Guinea, the Red Sea, Madagascar or Central America.

Amelia is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and has commercial shipping qualifications. She is a regular speaker on expedition ships, as well as on radio and at literary festivals.
