Saturday 17th October sees the first ever Evesham Festival of Words Autumnfest – a whole day of fabulous events. Starting at 10am, the daytime events all take place at Ecgwins Club, 117 High Street. We start the day with Cheltenham-based author of suspense novels, Rachel Sargeant. She loves chatting about books and this session will be a chance to learn more about her writing career and her inspiration for her stories. We then follow with former College lecturer, John Kinory, talking about My Life and Times as a Film Extra. After lunch, Oliver Lewis (pictured) will take us on The Orwell Tour – Travels Through the Life and Work of George Orwell. The final event of the afternoon will be a lively and informative talk by Festival Chair, Sue Ablett, entitled Libraries of the World. The day concludes with an evening performance at The Henrician of Macready! Dickens Theatrical Friend. Featuring Mark Stratford, this one-,man play tells the story of the great Victorian actor-manager, William Charles Macready, the man to whom Charles Dickens dedicated Nicholas Nickleby.
